Okay, I have SO MUCH TO SAY about this source and this vid. When I was reading [personal profile] bananainpyjamas's Dear Festividder letter and saw this source, I was… intrigued. Despite my reservations with Barbie, I was kind of obsessed with her for most of my childhood, and this show looked fun. I saw that some of it was on Netflix when I was bored one day, so I started watching it, and oh my god. I was gigglesnorting the entire time and it just really brought my spirits up when I was having a rough day. I like that Barbie is shown as way more competent than Ken (who is still a lovable dork) and that she has had so many careers, she can't even remember them all, sometimes. I put it on my list of "maybe" treats, since I didn't have a song in mind.

Then. THEN. I heard this perfect song on Pandora while I was at work, and had a total epiphany when I heard the line "living in a world gone plastic, baby you're so classic." BARBIE/KEN OTP, AMIRITE? I HAD to make this vid. So I got home from work, downloaded and clipped (and watched most of, for the first time) the entire webseries in less than 24 hours, and the vid was done two days later. Since living with [personal profile] kuwdora, this was the only time she hasn't seen a vid of mine before it's been posted -- she wanted to be surprised by the song. She did see me giggling and facepalming the entire time, though, and she did see how PINK my timeline was from across the room. I can almost never keep vids completely to myself as I'm making them, though, so I forced [personal profile] kiki_miserychic, [personal profile] bradcpu and [personal profile] milly to watch it (and they caught a stray frame -- thank you!). Basically, making this vid was a thrilling adventure and I loved every minute of it.
